Sweet Dreams

Every time I close my eyes
something small within me dies
can't say if its dark or bright
but its all I've ever known
and when I sleep
I sleep alone

alone

every time I take a breath
something once living inside me has left
yes its alive but its just past through
its just left me and its just left you

on your own

and I love you most
I love you most
when I first found love in my soul
and I'll give to you
give it up to you
when i first find it in my self
and the time will come for everyone
for everyone to know
yes the time will come for everyone
for everyone to go

and say goodbye
sweet dreams
sleep tight

We live today

Transitions of a man’s mission to turn the moment into something young
Not just for him but for them understand
This is peace of a man
Woman beside providing balance
So that we can do our best regard silence
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
you live today, live today,
 we live today
don’t give it away
‘cause we live today, live today

Today I’m known, today I’m born
New way ‘cause I’m going new ways ‘cause I’m going
New ways I’m flowing,
A form unknown from the corner is one stone
Color with life with more than one tone
Nation and bracing like placement spaces and places we in
Dot direction is taking us in like the wind from ..
That’s discovered by .. Chicago
Talk em how to lead and to follow
My heart even when it’s hallo

I plan the scene for today that we live in tomorrow
Son telling me that we feed in the sorrow
Pay attention ‘cause D time for borrow
..amaze us unless you just amaze us
Unless is aggressive we live today

We live today
Don’t give it away
‘Cause we live today

The path that we take, the path that we make
We create from the one true y’all
Some things we gotta undo and unlearn
Taking turn to .. taking turn to burn
Taking things as fun ..think we time ..
We divide em out, divide em in
We become since and my man ..plan
We taking in like the breath
I can be the chef in the kitchen
while i’m .. different type of style
a different job, i gotta think fast
ha gotta task for everybody
just to do just to live ..
just to live today

We live today for the present no one else
Listen ..
For our future givin things before I answer ..in the past

Geneva Sky

Sky (or celestial dome) is everything that lies a certain distance above the surface of Earth, including the atmosphere and the rest of outer space. In the field of astronomy, the sky is also called the celestial sphere. This is an imaginary dome where the sun, stars, planets, and the moon are seen to be traveling. The celestial sphere is divided into regions called constellations.

Usually, the term sky is used from the point of view of the Earth's surface; however, the exact meaning of the term can vary. For example, in some cases the sky is defined as only the denser portions of the atmosphere.

During daylight, the sky appears to be blue because air scatters blue sunlight more than it scatters red. At night, the sky appears to be a mostly dark surface or region scattered with stars. During the day, the Sun can be seen in the sky, unless obscured by clouds. In the night sky (and to some extent during the day) the moon, planets and stars are visible in the sky.

Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, and aurorae. Lightning and precipitation can also be seen in the sky during storms. Birds, insects, aircraft, and kites are often considered to fly in the sky. Due to human activities, smog during the day and light pollution during the night are often seen above large cities.

Except for light that comes directly from the sun, most of the light in the day sky is caused by scattering, which is dominated by a small-particle limit called Rayleigh Scattering. The scattering due to molecule sized particles (as in air) is greater in the forward and backward directions than it is in the lateral direction. Scattering is significant for light at all visible wavelengths, but it is stronger at the shorter (bluer) end of the visible spectrum; meaning that that the scattered light is more blue than its source, the sun.

The remaining sunlight, having lost some of its short wavelength components, appears slightly less blue. Although violet, not blue, is the color with the shortest visible wavelength; the spectrum of light emission from the sun is not constant at all wavelengths, and additionally is partially absorbed by the high atmosphere, so there is less violet in the light. Human eyes are also less sensitive to violet than blue.

Scattering also occurs even more strongly in clouds. Individual water droplets exposed to white light will create a set of colored rings. If a cloud is thick enough, scattering from multiple water droplets will wash out the set of colored rings and create a washed out white color. [ source ]

Heartbeats

One night to be confused
One night to speed up truth
We had a promise made
Four hands and then away
Both under influence
We had divine sense
To know what to say
Mind is a razorblade

To call for hands of above to lean on
Wouldn't be good enough for me, no

One night of magic rush
The start - a simple touch
One night to push and scream
And then relief
Ten days of perfect tunes
The colors red and blue
We had a promise made
We were in love

To call for hands of above to lean on
Wouldn't be good enough for me, no
To call for hands of above to lean on
Wouldn't be good enough for me, oh

And you, you knew the hand of a devil
And you kept us awake with wolves teeth
Sharing different heartbeats in one night

To call for hands of above to lean on
Wouldn't be good enough for me, no
To call for hands of above to lean on
Wouldn't be good enough for me, oh

The Swimmers

Urban Swimming In Geneva

A swim with a view of a 140m high fountain spurting skywards and grand hotels along the waterfront. I could only be in Geneva, the city that gives urban swimming a bit of chic.

Not because it sits at the tip of one of Europe's largest lakes, but thanks to the Bains des Pâquis, the top spot for swimming in Geneva. It isn't that big or that posh, but it's the place to be in summer.

It's all about the view, both of the city and your fellow swimmers – this is prime see-and-be-seen territory for everyone, and entry is only about £1.50. This is city swimming with style.

The Bains des Pâquis have been an institution since 1872, though the current art deco incarnation dates from the 30s. What makes them unusual is their location, built on a long breakwater stretching out into the lake.

That gives them enough space for some purpose-built pools, sunbathing decks, a cafe and a small beach for lake swimming. When it gets very busy, people overflow on to the rocks of the breakwater, basking in the sun like a herd of sea lions. [source]

Lovers are Strangers

Eyes will drift to the sky
In time
While arms keep holding tight

There's a party in full force
Still the guests
Can't help but watch the door

Expressing your uncertainties
Through years of anniversaries
Then five years down the line
You say, "She was never my type"

Lovers are strangers
There's nothing to discuss
Hearts will be faithful
While the truth is told to someone else

When you look off
Tell me who you really love

Fall comes by surprise
Looking into strange eyes
Like school kids who are not friends
In the streets they are oonnected

Huddling in the dark
The only number you call
Magic moments are not lost
They'll outlive all your doubts

Lovers are strangers
There's nothing to discuss
Hearts will be faithful
While the truth is told to someone else

When you look off
Tell me who you really love

Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva or Lake Léman (French: Lac Léman, Le Léman, sometimes Lac de Genève, German: Genfersee) is a lake in Switzerland and France.

It is one of the largest lakes in Western Europe. 59.53% 345.31 km2 (133.32 sq mi) of it comes under the jurisdiction of Switzerland (cantons of Vaud, Geneva, and Valais), and 40.47% 234.71 km2 (90.62 sq mi) underFrance (Haute-Savoie).

The first recorded name of the lake is Lacus Lemannus from Roman times; Lemannus comes from Ancient greek Limanos, Limènos Limne Λιμένος Λίμνη meaning port's lake; it became Lacus Lausonius, although this name was also used for a town or district on the lake, Lacus Losanetes and then the Lac de Lausanne in the Middle Ages.Following the rise of Geneva it became Lac de Genève (translated into English as Lake Geneva).

In the 18th century, Lac Léman was revived in French and is the customary name in that language (except in the canton of Geneva). In contemporary English, the name Lake Geneva is predominant.

Lake Geneva is divided into three parts because of its different reasons of formation (sedimentation, tectonic folding, glacial erosion):

  • Haut Lac (Upper Lake), the eastern part from the Rhone estuary to the line of Meillerie–Rivaz
  • Grand Lac (Large Lake), the largest and deepest basin with the lake's largest width
  • Petit Lac (Small Lake), the most south-west, narrower and less deep part from Yvoire–Promenthoux next Prangins to the exit in Geneva

According to the Swiss Federal Office of Topography, swisstopo, Lac de Genève designates that part of the Petit Lac, which lies within the cantonal borders of Geneva (excluding the cantonal exclave Céligny), so about from Versoix–Hermance to the Rhone outflow in Geneva.   [ source ]

Show me the face

Show me the face
Of the one I'll love
Cause I've run out
Of preconceived notions

Show me the face
Of the one I'll love
Cause I've satisfied
All my preconceived notions

Show me the face
Show me the face
Show me the face
That could break my heart next

All of the ones I dreamed
All of the ones I could conceive
Have spent the night with me
So show me the face

Environment and the people

CERN and the environment

CERN's environmental policy includes a commitment to minimize the environmental impact of the wide range of activities the Laboratory carries out in the course of its research.

  • Ensuring the level of environmental safety and protection specified by European standards and directives.

  • Monitoring all parameters that might reveal any impact on the environment, such as those related to atmospheric emissions, effluent water, radiation, consumption of electricity and production of waste.

  • Improving continuously its environmental performance through an Environmental Management System.

  • Informing the Host States, France and Switzerland, as well as the public of the results of its Environmental Monitoring Programme.  [info]

CERN and the People
An international spirit

The endeavour of science brings nations together towards a common goal, and many of CERN’s experiments are international collaborations. The Laboratory welcomes many visiting physicists every year from all over the world. Some may stay for a seminar, whereas others may remain for months or even years working on an experiment.

The continuous flow of visitors not only brings new ideas for physics, it also enriches the Laboratory with a unique mix of cultures. As nationalities mingle and visitors come and go, the exchange of ideas and the circulation of people is the life-blood that keeps CERN alive.

A different side of CERN, as seen through the eyes of the many physicists and engineers who are currently working here, or have spent a memorable time here. Whether these are exciting tingles of being right in the middle of the action, or precious memories of moments past, they all convey a private view of CERN that is unique and of its time, adding to the timeless spirit of the Laboratory.
