It is the end of the second century. 

The Roman Empire is crumbling: it is the end of an era.

Amidst the atmosphere of collapse and decline, three theatre companies arrive at an ancient theatre from three different parts of the Empire and set up their own improvised drama competition modelled on those of the glorious past

 In a thrilling work of theatre that delves back in time from the origins of ancient Greek writing to the Roman period, the history of the theater is brought to life on stage.

 

 
Extracts from tragedies and comedies by Greek and Roman poets, songs and speeches, mime, sport, fighting, acrobatics and dramatic displays with fire – elements of the Roman arena – make for a colorful and diverse spectacle.

Thievery Corporation is a Washington, D.C.-based recording artist and DJ duo consisting of Rob Garza, Eric Hilton, and their supporting artists. 

  Their music style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern, and Brazilian (such as bossa nova) with a lounge aesthetic. 

Thievery Corporation has taken progressive political stances on various issues, opposing war and exploitative trade agreements, while supporting human rights and food programs. 

Tracks such as "Amerimacka" and "Revolution Solution" from their album The Cosmic Game and Richest Man in Babylon from the album of the same title reveal the group's opposition to the positions and initiatives of former president George W. Bush's administration.

“We never had to answer to anybody,” Rob Garza boldly declares. “We never had to sit in a boardroom and talk about our record. It has allowed us to be ourselves.” 

Garza says. “There are messages that are happening within the music – for us its good to have the
different levels and ideas. When it comes to political messages and social consciousness, music is the perfect vehicle for us to say what we want to say, and obviously we’re against things that are inhumane, whether it’s corporations, war or government. Our music definitely allows us to speak our mind.”

Their latest album Culture Of Fear is based more around the music, with “beautiful, trippy 60s and 70s space rock influences”

Στον χώρο του Μαροκινού@ Terra Petra, φιλοξενείται η φωτογραφική έκθεση των Slightly Eccentric:

Εικόνες από τη «Μέση Γη».

Εκτός από το τετριμμένο, σαν όρο, αστικό περιβάλλον υπάρχει και η «Μέση Γη».

H «Μέση Γη», δηλαδή η Γη των απλών / καθημερινών / μέσων ανθρώπων της πόλης, όπως την έχει καταγράψει ο φωτογραφικός φακός της ομάδας Slightly Eccentric(*) .

Μια έκθεση που αποτελείται από ένα σύνολο από εικόνες -φευγαλέων στιγμών- της καθημερινότητας. Σε αυτές ο άνθρωπος, άλλοτε είναι ο βασικός πρωταγωνιστής κι άλλοτε ένας απλός θεατής, σε ένα έργο που διαδραματίζεται αέναα στη «Μέση Γη».
