Nature at its best. There are more than 2,500 public parks and gardens in Berlin, and almost a fifth of the city is covered with trees.


Whether you are walking through Grunewald forest on a warm summer’s evening, taking a stroll around the ‘Gardens of the World’ in Marzahn, admiring the waterfall in Kreuzberg’s Viktoriapark, canoeing on Lake Müggelsee or swimming in Schlachtensee lake – it’s sometimes easy to forget that you are in a capital city with a population of almost 3.5 million.
