Maria Filopoulou, "Water"
Following the retrospective exhibition at the Hermoupolia 2009 on the island of Syros (where she presented all the chapters of her work from 1989: interiors, staircases, greenhouses, sea and swimmers), Maria Filopoulou presented her new series of works, with waterfalls, at Zoumboulakis Galleries
The liquid element as well as her love for water carries through this new chapter.
An interesting transition from beaches and open horizons to cisterns, waterfalls, magic lands of the Cabeiri mysteries; her inner quest leads the artist to create a personal paradise which she invites the viewer to enter.
