Athens Photo Festival (former International Month of Photography in Athens), is the annual festival of photography in Greece and a premier cultural event in Athens, established in 1987 by the Hellenic Centre for Photography. It is the first and longest-running international festival of photography and related media in Greece, and one of the five oldest of its kind in the world.












The Athens Photo Festival 2012 edition celebrates festival′s 25 years of active and creative presence, expanding continuously its range of activities and its role in a changing society. Therefore, Athens Photo Festival is firmly committed to promote a deeper appreciation of photography and related media, combining high-quality contemporary art with major issues of our time. At the same time, APhF continues to focus on knowledge, creativity and innovation.












Athens Photo Festival takes place in a significant number of venues across the city of Athens during the months of October and November and includes a diverse range of exhibitions as well as screenings, portfolio reviews, performances, master classes, lectures, photographic marathon, fine print program and other parallel events.












The main program of exhibitions and events will be headquartered, for a second consecutive year, at “Technopolis” of Municipality of Athens, creating a challenging and exciting photography platform for a wider audience.
