Stealin'

Take me across the water
‘Cause I need some place to hide
I done the rancher’s daughter
And I sure did hurt his pride

Well, there's a
Hundred miles of desert
Lies between his hide and mine
I don't need no food
And no water, Lord
‘Cos I'm running out of time

Fightin', killin', wine and women
Gonna put me to my grave
Runnin', hidin', losin', cryin'
Nothing left to save but my life

Stood on a ridge
And shunned religion
Thinking the world was mine
I made my break and a big mistake
Stealin', when I
Should've been buyin'

All that fightin', killin'
Wine and those women
Gonna put me to an early grave
Runnin', hidin', losin', cryin'
Nothing left to save but my life

So I stood on a ridge
And shunned religion
Thinking the world was mine
I made my break and a big mistake
Stealin', when I
Should've been buyin'
I was stealin’
When I should’ve been buyin’
I was stealin’

Parnassos

Parnassos
Group exhibition
May 7 - 31, 2012

The Dada da Academy in cooperation with the Wiener Art Foundation presented an exhibition of contemporary art, entitled "Parnassos" (at the exhibition hall of Parnassos Literary Society).

"Parnassos" exhibition involved mostly young Greek artists with international careers and international artists living and working in Athens. In the words of exhibition curator Stefan Bidner who said: “I am really interested in getting to know better the Athenian art scene, especially now with the crisis and all that which is happening in Greece. I would like to present representatives of the contemporary Greek art community in this building full with history. It's like an art-historical catch up which I find extremely interesting.”

The title Parnassos was chosen for two reasons: firstly in honor of the Parnassos Literary Society (due to celebrate its 150th year anniversary in 3 years from now), and secondly for its metaphorical value - connotations with the Greek word "Mountain" - in relation to the struggle artists sometimes endure while trying to achieve their goals.

The exhibition was organised in cooperation with the Parnassos Literary Society and the “Friends of the Parnassos Literary Society”, and was also supported by the Austrian Embassy in Athens.

I Lived on the Moon

Dear little lad
Here's the story of my life
I lived on the moon
I lived on the moon

Grey flying snakes along
Mountains of destiny while
The three tailed moneys
Were drawing the stars

Light from the Sun and I
Hide myself on the dark side, alone
I've run so far
To find my way
Then I dream again.. alone

Dear little boy, listen
To voices of your soul
It showed you the way of
Silence and peace
Follow your thought and fly

Choosing all the things that you desire
Giant waves, fireflies..
Your dreams will be your only shell
Your secrets, your hiding place, my son

Don't let them try
To crush your brain
Let you go far
..my son

Distortions

I'd like to know completely
What others so discreetly
Talk about when they leave me
Not that I notice when they're gone

It's eerie and so scary
I don't know who to marry
Your sister came to bait me
But I love it when you blink your eyes

I've showed me once to often.
You'd never know how often
I've pictured you in coffins
My baby in a coffin
But I love it when you blink your eyes

Oh I, I want to know my body
I want this out not in me
I want no other leakage
I want to know no secrets showed
I leave, oh I leave, now I leave care

Free of distortions, free of distortions, free of distortions.

The distant relative of a blind man

The distant relative of a blind man
at ABOUT until June 16th

There is an intermediate time and space, between the finite, the measurable, the already unavoidable known of the past and the forthcoming, unknown of the imminent future, a conception of time and space inherent in the notion of temporality, of transitivity, of absence, which by being emotionally ambivalent, oscillates between anticipation, expectation and fulfillment, pause and movement, the void and the complete. Embodied in the Purgatory, the ou-Topos of transition between Hell and Paradise, it is implemented in R.E.M, the transition of brain operation from the alertness to the highway of dreams.” -- *from the text by Vassiliki Vayenou entitled “Between”

How is the concept of the void, the space between boundaries and the in-between place defined? The answers impend in any case, they remain hesitant and ambiguous, and they linger, contradict and repeat the questions in a circular fashion.

The participants are required to decipher and determine their understanding of the concept of the void. It is the end of the nightmare, the familiar one relived as a horrendous reality or is it the construction of new familiarities? The pending issues remain and invite the viewer to participate and possibly explore the universe of the image. The wandering may lead the viewer to discover one’ s own BIRTH PLACE.

The end is in the beginning and yet you go on” says one of Becket’s characters. Even in the most ominous of situations, life meets our expectations with or without our consent and is sharpened by the individuals and the space that surrounds us. Within our most radiant memories the shadows always remind us the verification of time as a quasi-circular procedure and the confirmed ceaseless progress of the deterioration process with an almost mathematical precision.
From the starting point until the end the only thing that seems to separate man from death is a curtain of sounds and images, validating the flow of life through time and history.

Where is my mind?

Oh - stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind

Way out in the water
See it swimmin'

I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me, coy koi.

Where is my mind
