Proceed into darkness

I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but he who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

I write differently from what I speak, I speak differently from what I think, I think differently from the way I ought to think, and so it all proceeds into deepest darkness.” ― Franz Kafka

Thaw

Is it raining is it pouring
Love is falling out of my eye
This road goes down to the water
This blackest night I saw you cry

Don't get addicted to anything
Just keep on walking
One foot in front of the other
Forward motion's the only answer

Did you go down into town
Was it busy was it crowded
They will come and fuck alone
This blackest night I saw you cry

Don't get addicted to anything
Just keep on walking
One foot in front of the other
Forward motion's the only answer

This night has opened my eyes

In a river the color of lead
Immerse the baby's head
Wrap her up in the news of the world
Dump her on a doorstep, Girl
This night has opened my eyes
And I will never sleep again

You kicked and cried like a bullied child
A grown man of 25,
Oh, he said he'd cure your ills
But he didn't and he never will
Oh, save your life
Because you've only got one

The dream has gone but the baby is real
Oh, you did a good thing
She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool
Oh, you did a bad thing
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad

A shoeless child on a swing
Reminds you of your own again
She took away your troubles
Oh, but then again she left pain

Oh, please save your life
Because you've only got one
The dream has gone but the baby is real
Oh, you did a good thing

She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool
Oh, you did a bad thing
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad

Gun Shy

What you were, what it was
You were fixing to get lost
I tried to tame you, it wasn't long 'til you were takin' off

Lightly,
Lonely on the road at night
You're still a wild one, but what is it you're running from?

All scared, like you're staring down the barrel of the gun
No pistol could get you, no rifle could shoot fast enough
Some try to love you, but it's never long before you shake 'em off

Lightly,
Lonely on the road at night
Lights so low and glare in your eyes

Lightly,
Lonely on the road at night
Lights so low and glare in your eyes

My mind kept wandering

"Man is lost and is wandering in a jungle where real values have no meaning. Real values can have meaning to man only when he steps on to the spiritual path, a path where negative emotions have no use." --Sai Baba

"I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering." --Steven Wright

"He went, ever on the move, with the slow, shuffling step of wandering beggars who are nowhere at home." --Stijn Streuvels

Topography of Terror

The Topography of Terror (German: Topographie des Terrors) is an outdoor museum in Berlin, the capital of Germany. It is located in Niederkirchnerstrasse, formerly Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, on the site of buildings which during the Nazi regime from 1933 to 1945 were the headquarters of the Gestapo and the SS, the principal instruments of repression during the Nazi era.

The buildings that housed the Gestapo and SS headquarters were largely destroyed by Allied bombing during early 1945 and the ruins demolished after the war. The boundary between the American and Soviet zones of occupation in Berlin ran along the Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, so the street soon became a fortified boundary, and the Berlin Wall ran along the south side of the street, renamed Niederkirchnerstrasse, from 1961 to 1989.

The wall here was never demolished. Indeed the section adjacent to the Topography of Terror site is the longest extant segment of the outer wall (the longer East Side Gallery section in Friedrichshain being actually part of the inner wall not visible from West Berlin).

The construction of the new Documentation Center according to a prize-winning design by the architect Ursula Wilms (Heinle, Wischer und Partner, Berlin) and the landscape architect Heinz W. Hallmann (Aachen) was finished in 2010. The new Documentation Center was officially opened on May 6, 2010 by Federal President Horst Köhler on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II. [ source ]
