Grinning in Your Face

Don't you mind people grinning in your face
Don't you mind people grinning in your face
There's one thing to bear in mind
A true friend is hard to find

Don't you mind people grinning in your face
Your mother she may talk about you
Your brothers and your sisters they will talk about you, too

No matter how you're trying to live
They will talk about you still
Don't you mind people grinning in your face
Don't you mind people grinning in your face

They'll jump you up and they jump you down
They'll try to turn you 'round and 'round
As soon as you turn your back around
They'll try and crush you down
Don't you mind people grinning in your face

Don't you mind people grinning in your face

No Love

His fire goes
Into our minds
Creating further homes
Constructing it
Without plans
Damaging the soul

Violence unfolds
It's a beautiful design
Watch the light take hold
Its a beautiful design

If a wire runs from house to house
Does it mean we are connected
Destroying it
Specific plans
All strewn about

Violence unfolds

It's a beautiful design
Watch the light take hold
Its a beautiful design

This no love is what I need
But I want to want to love
I want to want to learn
This time no love is what I need
Yeah I want to want to love
I want to want to learn

This no love is what I need
But I want to want to love
I want to want to learn
This time no love is what I need
Yeah I want to want to love
I want to want to learn

But I want to want to learn
But I want to want to learn

Never-Ever

So, you're lyin' in the snow,
You lie right through you're clothes
You never kiss and tell,
That's never ever

The beast is calling you

Bland, a mix of old incense,
A fleet stripped of weapons,
A stuttering boy is saved
On Easter Sunday

It's now or never

Well, I know we'll meet again
I'd love to hear your voice
We don't fill our songs with noise,
That's never ever

Scar, you know that's what you are
You say the Beatles stopped the war
They might have helped to find a cure,
But it's still not over

Don't go chasin' dreams
No don't you chase your dreams
Your movements must be screened
You can't listen to these things

Rebuilding Dialectics

Rebuilding Dialectics
 (completed)

Two of the key members of the group Salon De Vortex, Yiannis Grigoriadis and Yiannis Isidorou, are excibiting at CheapArt Athens their installation entitled “Rebuilding Dialectics“

Documents and archival material referring to the sudden change in the built landscape, symbols and interpretations of social codes enforced by the latest urban model in Greece, and also gestures of brute materiality are the main tools of this installation.

This is an attempt to think historically on the present, in a time that is characterized primarily by oblivion. This new project emphasizes on the problematic and particular character of Greek middle class and proceeds to proposing the idea of rebuilding as a central axis around which the methods and practices of enrichment, consumerism, the rapid spread of kitsch and the final cultural homogenization, developed  [ more ]

House On Fire

midnight coming back around
the summer heat that wears me out
is drifting through a firmament of cranes
and the friends I’ve left behind
are speechless in my sunlit mind
as through the door to summer

through the door to summer
they pass away

if there’s a stillness in your eyes
the unreal city’s closing all its summer doors on you tonight yeah
won’t you step into the light
the arcades that have blossomed just
to fade into the shadows of the night
through all the trains still moving in my mind
the gas fire flares into the light
and I am in this house on fire
but I was only watching clouds go by

and we were old before our time
and we knew as we heard the fields just
singing in the quiet yeah
that one day the band would strike
a tune that carried us along
through city gardens, leaving in the heat
and all the deals and trials on Ganton Street
the gas fire flares into the light
and I am in this house on fire
but I was only watching clouds go by

I picked her up at half past four
the church hall in a haze
unreal as I could ever really be
and everyone was leaving and the moment passed away
and ended up inside my heart a dream

midnight coming back around
the summer heat that wears me out
is rising to my eyes behind the flames
I have come to disbelieve
exactly what I hear and see
as through the door to summer
through the door to summer
I pass away

By-products

By-products
--A by-product is a secondary product derived from a manufacturing process or chemical reaction. It is not the primary product or service being produced.--

Bested Bones

Tomorrow's ghost
Upon the brow
Another day
Upon the back

What could have been
What will become
Mountain deep
Ocean high

Bested Bones - long gone victories

Another year
Upon the back
Bygone ghosts
Upon the shoulders

What could have been
What will become
The bested bones
The vested hopes

Mountain deep
Uncover me

Unbury me
You sheltering clay
