Go With The Flow

She said "I'll throw myself away,
They're just photos after all"
I can't make you hang around.
I can't wash you off my skin.

Outside the frame, is what we're leaving out
You won't remember anyway
I can go with the flow
Don't say it doesn't matter (with the flow) matter anymore

I can go with the flow (I can go)
Do you believe it in your head?
It's so safe to play along
Little soldiers in a row
Falling in and out of love
Something sweet to throw away.

I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live.
I want a new mistake, lose is more than hesitate.
Do you believe it in your head?
I can go with the flow

Don't say it doesn't matter (with the flow) matter anymore
I can go with the flow (I can go)
Do you believe it in your head?

The symptom project: Opening

The symptom project: Opening

To the limits of “togetherness”

The Symptom Projects is a platform that seeks to examine the “symptom” in art; the “symptom”, this dark experience of the lacanian psychoanalysis, the linguistic event that lets emerge the indisposed trace of the real, the unrevealed trace of the thing.

We focus on the non pictorial truth of the work of art, not on its figurative and realistic fixations. Through a collaboration with artists, curators, theoreticians and litterateurs,

The Symptom Projects becomes a place of thought no less than a forum of experimentation that aims to explore this unmapped reserve and, equally, this original reference of an artwork what so ever, by means of exhibition activities, round tables and textual productions.

These photos are from the opening of the _third_ symptom project: To the limits of “togetherness”

Postscraps

Postscraps curated by Provo Principles

The exhibition POSTSCRAPS curated by PROVO PRINCIPLES, refers to boundaries and the perception of space in relation to memory, using random construction materials as the main installation objects and acting like a contemporary archaeology.

Thus the participating artists attempt a different approach, referring to the area’s existing emotional weight of old objects, ruins, memorabilia etc, as vessels of the boundaries of the registered space and as a means to identify the mystery that somehow surrounds it.

In a way, the artists wander like «smelling the past» of the area under investigation, try to capture its atmosphere, and to decode writer Thomas Pynchon s “Rainbow of gravity”.

As a part otheir artistic habit PROVO PRINCIPLES invite the design group “busy building“ to design the logo of the exhibition ,which will be exhibited as a site specific project in the gallery area.

Participating artists:
Gerasimos Avlamis, busybuilding, Thodoris Chrisikos, Andreas Diktyopoulos ,Apostolos Zerdevas, Stefanos Kamaris, Giorgos Karagiorgos, Giorgos Karagiorgos, Lilian Lykiardopoulou, Dimitris Merantzas, Aliki Pappa, Kostantinos Patsios, Dimirtis Protopappas, Nikos Sepetzogloy, Giannis Sinioroglou, Giorgos Tserionis, Andreas Voussouras.

PROVO PRINCIPLES is an artist- run group (Giorgos Karagiorgos,Dimitris Merantzas,Kostantinos Patsios, Nikos Sepetzogloy, Giorgos Tserionis, Andreas Voussouras) formed in September 2011, based in Athens whose aim is to produce and promote a dialogue between:

art , art history, social and political facts , both in Greece and abroad. The group acts in a morally deviant world , producing artworks or inviting artists and curators for site specific projects functioning like “though” islands.

For their first exhibition at TAF -The Art Foundation in December 2011 under the title” LOL” the group deals with the fluid states and uncertain mechanisms of the current social environment in Greece .                                         [ more info ]

WALLS / Unbounded boundaries

WALLS / Unbounded boundaries

Participating artists: Maria Andonatou, Panagiota Apostolopoulou, Anneta Spanoudaki

A new identity within the old city of Athens that serves as the starting point of strong cultural dialogue and distinct artistic behavior. The city center welcomes the newly emerging ArtWall. The project space focuses on bringing together contemporary artists who are a part of the undivided creative force of the city, who produce ideas and projects – documenting concepts and images of the city, often contradictory to each other.

The exhibition program opens with the show "WALLS - Unbounded boundaries" where 3 artists have collected and processed information from the urban setting to create their own intermediate space.

Social and individual periods of unrest in which one must re-arrange, revalue and redefine everyday symbols in both idea and structure –create new interpretations and new mind paths. What we know is now different, what was beside us is across from us or vice versa.

The term “Wall” as used within the given exhibition, specifies a surface or non-surface as a cognitive mapping - a result of piecing together information from the urban setting. You may sit back and allow the “walls” to penetrate while generating hundreds of possible real and unreal locations otherwise seen as urban coordinates. A Wall is a location within a location, it is there for you to visualize and penetrate, to confront and question. Don’t expect to see the cliché surface of one before you, its transparency indicates inner boundaries and coordinates and an experience with intermediate space.                                                                                                     [ Read more
